It fills my heart with joy to see the pews packed and the special atmosphere that surrounds these most holy of days within the walls of our sanctuary. Hopefully, members who are not able to make it very often feel the love and will want to return to the gathering more often.

This is something I have struggled with from the time I was a little girl (my father is a pastor.) I love seeing more people attending church but you do wonder where they are the rest of the year, right?

At the same time, I know that the Lord can reach even the C and E-ers (Christmas and Easter) among us and if we don't welcome them, they won't want to come back!

Thanks for your postings! Here's another question for you. Would you rather see those people there once a year with the full hearts or those that go to church regularly to "just put their time in." You know the ones I mean, I've even seen some people bring magazines to church and read during homilies. Does God give partial credit for showing up?
